Soaked or Dry Patches
Having water coverage that is balanced ensures that the lawn stays healthy, having a leak can make the distribution of water uneven. Berardi will be able to asses you irrigation system and make the repairs it needs to keep your grass green!
Control Valves Are Dripping
Behind the scenes, your irrigation system is programmed to allow certain amounts of water in each area of your lawn. The valves should be dripping or leaking. Check the areas around the filters and pressure regulators to see if they are. Grass and dirt can get in the irrigation equipment and cause leaks that can damage the system, so call your irrigation company right away.
Sprinkler Heads Are Sputtering
Are the sprinkler heads spraying water in different areas than normal? That might indicate valve or pressure problems. Sprinkler heads can crack or chip and cause them to do this. The sprinkler heads can shift out of their intended position and spray water into puddles.
Having High or Low-Pressure
If your system has too much pressure, or too little pressure, this can be a problem. This issue usually originates in the pipes of the system. They can move around underground, causing them to get around tree roots and hinder their ability to properly provide the right pressure for your water.
Water Costs
If you get your monthly water bill and notice it’s a lot higher than usual, contact your irrigation company to come and check out the system. It could be the regulator that controls the pressure, or it could be water leaking underground. Noticing the water bill is higher when you have an irrigation system should alert you to call your irrigation company so they can at least come and make sure nothing is wrong, or help you fix anything that is.
